In large hydropower stations, air coolers are used within auxiliary cooling systems to manage operating temperatures of generators and associated equipment. For units around 175 MW, effective air cooling supports insulation life and operational stability during continuous load conditions. Over extended service periods, environmental exposure and heat load can reduce cooling efficiency. From a maintenance and replacement perspective, air cooler replacement is typically scheduled during planned outages to restore original cooling capacity and support long-term plant reliability.
