First-stage intercoolers in IHI TRE 50 centrifugal compressor systems are designed to reduce air temperature after initial compression, limiting thermal load on subsequent stages. Stable interstage cooling supports efficient multi-stage compression and long-term reliability. During extended operation, reduced heat transfer efficiency may occur due to fouling and thermal fatigue. From a replacement and service perspective, planned intercooler replacement during scheduled maintenance restores original cooling capacity and supports stable compressor operation.
